Dating back to 1890, the Trainwreck in Rock Hill is considered to be the oldest continually operated tavern in St. Louis County.
Upon its opening, great care was taken to restore and preserve the structure. The original back bar is still in use today. In 1992, a caboose was added to the Beer Garden, serving as a conversation piece. In 1995 an innovative bar was built in and around the caboose, making Rock Hill's Beer Garden one of the most unique patios in St. Louis. The Trainwreck in Rock Hill continues to be the definitive neighborhood tavern.
The Trainwreck saloon at West Port Plaza is reminiscent of a saloon in an old cowboy movie. Many of the antiques are authentic and date back to the turn of the century, including the 12 foot by 30 foot oak bar. Swinging saloon doors, planked floors, stained glass and brass tappers date this restaraunt to the late 1800s. A large model train circles the bar keeping patrons wondering where the name Trainwreck Saloon originated.
Over the years, the Westport Trainwreck has become one of the most popular venues across the board. From top notch business lunches and Happy Hours to the hottest nightlife and live music around, Trainwreck at Westport delivers on its reputation.
